Ingredients

2 cups Sifted all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cloves
1/4 cup butter
1-1/4 cups sugar
1 whole egg
1/4 cup dark molasses

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350°F. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and spices. Cream butter and 1 cup of the sugar, add the egg, molasses, and the dry ingredients. Mix well.

Form into small balls and roll in the remaining sugar. Place 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
