Fresh Cherry Pie

1 pkg pie crust dough, keep enough to top pie with lattice
1 qt fresh tart cherry, pitted
1-1/2 to 2 cups sugar
2 tbsp cornstarch or flour

Preparation

Preheat oven to 450°F. Line an 8-inch pie plate with pastry. Mix fruit with sugar and cornstarch. Fill crust. Cover with lattice crust. Bake for about 20 minutes, then reduce heat to 375°F and bake about 15 minutes longer, until crust is browned.
